EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

MINUTES OF November 4, 2002

1.      Introduction of Guests: Mike Ritch, Eligibility Chair

 

2.      October 14, 2002 Executive Board Minutes. Minutes were approved as written.

3.      Financial Report:              Checking          $   6,343.22  
                                              Savings:        $ 29,880.04

4.      Approval of Vouchers: Vouchers # 11596 through #11599 for a total of $ 6,958.15 M/S/P to approve vouchers as written.

5.      WIAA Executive Board Report: Craig Olson.  No Report.

6.      Sea-King District 2 Executive Board President Report:  Chris Hoffman

A.      Fall Eligibility Report – Mike Ritch
Mike reported a total of 82 cases for fall ’02, up from 71 last year.  53 appeals were granted (48 last year).  15 appealed to WIAA (8 last year).  3 were granted by WIAA versus 2 last year.  The number of transfer appeals was up from 18 the previous year to 31 this year.  Mike expressed appreciation for all who served on the eligibility committees and invites any interested AD to contact him about serving on the winter committees.

B.       Violations.  League actions approved.

C.       Review Fall Tournament/Play-Off Status.  Please refer to the website for updates.  The Emerald City web site (with a link off the district site) provides excellent information on their league’s playoffs. 

D.      Winter District Tournament Dates, Sites & Managers.  Craig reviewed the 3A basketball playoff dates and the move to Bellevue Community College.

E.       Proposed Amendments for Rep. Assembly  Bainbridge HS Diving coach is proposing an amendment to permit out of season for diving and contact with junior high students.

F.       2002-2003 Sea-King Dist. 2 Annual Goals. Need to form a  committee to reinstate
Sea-King lifetime pass for district volunteers and board members. Jana Porter will head committee.
